In the 2026 Local General Election, voters will elect:
One Mayor, Six City Councilors and One School Trustee.

Local government decisions affect our roads, public safety, housing, parks, infrastructure, taxes, and community services. Your vote truly makes a difference.

Mail Ballot Voting

Eligible voters may request a mail ballot package by:

Completing the online application form through the City of West Kelowna.
Completing an application in person at City Hall, 3731 Old Okanagan Highway.

Returning Your Mail Ballot

Please note that the deadline to receive mail ballot packages by mail is Friday, October 16, 2026 or may be delivered personally to: West Kelowna City Hall during regular office hours.

Who can vote?

You are eligible to vote as a resident elector if you:

Are 18 years of age or older on voting day (October 17, 2026)
Are a Canadian citizen
Have lived in British Columbia for at least six months immediately before voting (since April 16, 2026)
Are a resident of the City of West Kelowna

One Vote Can Make a Big Difference

As many residents know, West Kelowna voters can cast up to six votes for City Council candidates. While that is certainly your choice, I’d like to share why some supporters are considering using just one vote this election.

In municipal elections, every vote counts. When a voter chooses only one candidate instead of selecting multiple names, that vote carries its full weight toward helping that candidate earn a seat at the council table. This is often referred to as “bullet voting” or “single-shot voting.”

If you believe I would be a strong voice for West Kelowna and that the issues I’ve been advocating for deserve greater attention, you may wish to cast your vote solely for Tom Groat.

Of course, every voter should make the choice that feels right for them. Whether you cast one vote or six, the most important thing is that you participate in the election and make your voice heard.
