As our city grows, we need stronger advocacy, better planning, and a louder voice to ensure we receive the services and investments our residents deserve.

Campaign Priorities

Families deserve safe, connected sidewalks, bike lanes, and multi-use pathways. Parents should feel confident their children can safely walk or bike to school, parks, and recreation facilities. Better connections also help residents access local businesses and services.

West Kelowna should be a place where everyone feels safe, welcome and supported. I’ll work to keep public spaces safe, improve access to treatment and recovery, strengthen local crisis response, and ensure residents have a voice. We can set reasonable expectations for safety and accountability while caring for people in need.

Seniors deserve affordable, accessible housing and better access to health care, doctors, urgent care, assisted living, and long-term care facilities. Our goal should be helping seniors remain in our community close to family and support networks.

No family should have to worry that traffic on the Bennett Bridge could delay access to emergency medical care. I will advocate for an emergency care facility (hospital) in West Kelowna, along with more doctors, urgent care services, and long-term care options.

Residents understand the need for taxes, but they also deserve confidence that every dollar is being spent wisely. I support greater transparency, accountability, and responsible management of public funds.

Traffic congestion on the Bennett Bridge costs residents time, money, and unnecessary stress. We need immediate cost-effective regional solutions that improve mobility, support economic growth, and prepare for future population growth.

West Kelowna needs power redundancy to protect homes, businesses, and essential services from major outages. I support reliable electrical infrastructure built using appropriate routes and construction methods that respect our neighbourhoods and environment.

From supportive housing and assisted living to family housing, West Kelowna needs housing options across the entire continuum. Growth must be planned responsibly so infrastructure and services keep pace with development.

West Kelowna should be a community that residents are proud to call home, and visitors are excited to explore. By strengthening our town centre, supporting local events, enhancing parks, and encouraging tourism, we can create a vibrant city that benefits everyone.

Many of the investments our city needs—health care, transportation infrastructure, and power upgrades—depend on provincial funding. For too long, West Kelowna's needs have been overlooked. We need a stronger voice to ensure the BC provincial government takes West Kelowna seriously. I will advocate tirelessly for the funding, services, and infrastructure our community deserves.

West Kelowna is growing, our summers are becoming hotter and drier, and drought is no longer an occasional concern. In 2026, the City moved to Stage 3 outdoor watering restrictions because of persistent drought, heat, low snowpack and high demand. More than 90 million litres of water a day were flowing through the Rose Valley and Powers Creek treatment plants.
Water security is not something we can afford to take for granted.
If elected to West Kelowna City Council, I will make long-term water security a priority, with five practical objectives.
Meet Tom
Born in Winnipeg and raised on the Canadian prairies, Tom learned the values of hard work, honesty, and community service at an early age. He earned his degree from the University of Alberta and went on to enjoy a rewarding 30-year career as an educator, helping young people reach their full potential. Throughout his life, Tom has also been deeply involved in community sports as a builder, administrator, and coach, helping young athletes develop confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills both on and off the field.
Together, we can build a safer, healthier, more connected West Kelowna.
